The University of Maiduguri Veterinary Teaching Hospital (UNIMAID VTH) is the clinical and training arm of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Maiduguri. Established to support veterinary education, research, and healthcare delivery, the hospital provides specialized veterinary medical services while serving as a practical learning environment for veterinary students, interns, residents, and researchers.
UNIMAID VTH is equipped to manage a wide range of veterinary clinical cases involving small animals, large animals, poultry, and public health-related concerns. Through advanced diagnostic services, preventive healthcare, surgery, laboratory medicine, and community outreach programmes, the hospital continues to make significant contributions to animal health and disease control within Borno State and across Nigeria.
The hospital also promotes collaborative research, professional capacity development, and strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening veterinary practice, livestock production, food safety, and zoonotic disease prevention.
